When I started working at this dealership, 1 of the greatest rules was not to give your friends or family a discount.
This rule was frequently connected to all of the most up-to-date budtenders when I was first starting.
I feel they had a lot of troubles with people giving out marijuana for free. The floor director told us not to give anyone any discount unless it was authorized by a member of the management first, and then last week, I broke the rules. A lady came into the store and she looked enjoy she was pretty down on her luck. She only had $8 in her pocket, however she wanted to buy a pre-roll. The cheapest pre-rolls that both of us have in the cannabis dispensary is $9 plus tax. The lady looked legitimately bereft and sad when I told her that the cheapest pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes that both of us had was more cash than she had in her pocket. The lady was going to go away, however I stopped her at the door. I told her that I could help. I gave the lady a 25% discount for working in the marijuana industry. Both of us give a 25% discount to other people that work in the marijuana industry. If they show us an ID, they get that discount. If my boss questions the marijuana cigarette after that I will really lie and tell her that it was for a fellow budtender. Hopefully she won’t question the discount so I wouldn’t have to make up a story. I really enjoy this task a lot and I wouldn’t normally split the rules. This lady looked as if she needed a helping hand.
