In my home state the only way to get cannabis is to go to a medical weed store. You need to be a medical marijuana patient. In order to get the proper documentation, you have to jump through a lot of hoops. First you need to visit a doctor that can prescribe marijuana, not every single doctor can. Then you need to be approved by him, take that number and fill out the paperwork online. There are fees involved in the process as well. Then you need to wait for the marijuana card to arrive in the mail. After that, you have a prescription like with any medicine. You can’t just all the sudden decide you want edibles. Most of the time the prescription is for a certain amount of cannabis oil and flower per month. You get an allotment and that is it. I am not willing to go through all the work. I also feel that it is possible I won’t be approved at the end of it. It is easier to just go without. Medical marijuana dispensaries typically don’t carry a vast selection of products either. I typically wait to do my cannabis shopping until I am in a looser state. Anytime I take a trip out of state, I check the marijuana laws. If the place offers recreational cannabis for sale, I head into the dispensary near me. I will quickly grab up some edibles, oil to smoke and maybe a topical. Then I have to smuggle them back to my home state and enjoy them. Hopefully recreational cannabis becomes legal soon.
