I hope my mother understands cannabis one day

Not too long before I turned 21, I started talking about all the exciting things I wished to do for our birthday.

  • A certain thing that was making me feel recognizably enthusiastic was going to a marijuana dispensary.

Marijuana has been legalized in this state for 5 years and I only recently became aged enough to get the product from a legal dispensary. I told my mom that I was honestly thinking about going to a dispensary and she was severely upset. She told me that it would be better to go to a bar and drink beers with my friends. I told my mom that the number of drunk driving accidents that occur on someone’s 21st birthday are astonishing. I didn’t plan to go to a bar that evening at all. On the morning of my birthday, my mom chose to call to wish me a wonderful day. The other thing she said on the iphone was not to go to a marijuana dispensary. She begged me to consider the consequences. Unfortunately for her, my friends were already hanging out at that actual location and all of us were waiting for the dispensary to open. I knew that my mom wasn’t too thrilled about the decision, however if the government feels that it is perfectly safe enough to be legalized, then my mom shouldn’t worry so much. I never told her about the wonderful times I had on that day. It would have been excellent to share the stories of going to see different cannabis shops. I genuinely hope one day my mom will understand that marijuana is not a drug.
