Each day at the dispensary there are different sales.

The only day during the week when concentrates are on sale is on thursdays. I rarely ever get to take advantage of the sale because of the fact that I don’t get paid until friday. While I have medical insurance, the co-pays to see one of my doctors is really high until I meet my out-of-pocket insurance deductible. The state here forces medical cannabis physicians to see their patients twice a year, and most of them charge about $150 for renewal appointments. In addition to the $300 I pay every year just to see the medical marijuana doctor, I also have to pay $75 once a year to the state itself to renew the medical marijuana ID card that the Department of Health issues to me. They use the same ID information from the state DMV, including the same photo and everything. Thankfully there are medical cannabis dispensaries that offer card renewal discounts where they give you the $75 back in savings on products from their retail stores. Since my live rosin products are expensive to begin with, this is a fantastic way to afford them.

I live in a state that is known for its many business regulations across all aspects of the economy.

It’s not the hardest state to do business in by far, but it’s nowhere near as simple as it was to run a business in the city where I grew up.

One rule they implemented is stark white packaging on all cannabis products. That forced a bunch of dispensaries to destroy jars and sleeves that they had already purchased and set aside for their products. Then these medical cannabis companies had to purchase new jars and sleeves following the stark white guidelines.

These herbs have real effects, but they can’t possibly compare to the sheer potency and psychoactive effects of real THC. These “mellow mood” drinks basically made me feel like I had just swallowed a Benadryl capsule, only I think Benadryl would be stronger if I had to stop and do a real comparison. After buying these drinks a few times for the novelty factor, I never bought them again. I’m not a huge fan of sedatives that don’t make you feel better and just make you feel tired and lethargic. By contrast, I buy mainly cannabis sativa products that have stimulating effects as opposed to the sedating effects of indica strains of cannabis. Oddly enough, when I was at the medical cannabis store the other day, I noticed that they had cannabis drinks for the first time ever. The budtender told me that the state was finally allowing the cannabis dispensaries to carry cannabis drinks after years of saying they weren’t “medical products.” Well, I shouldn’t have had any expectations, because it was like drinking a soda with a weak THC gummy candy dissolved inside. The effects were lacking and at $20 each, it’s an expense I can’t really justify in my entire cannabis budget as a whole. I’ll stick with vaporizing cannabis flower products along with full spectrum cannabis hash oil like live rosin and dry sift rosin.
