Regulations for legal cannabis make it difficult to get medication

It can be overwhelming attempting to deal with different laws regarding cannabis from one state to another.

Specific states have relaxed their restrictions on recreational and medical marijuna, while others are strict in their enforcement and limitations one those substances.

My cousin suffers chronic pain from a spinal injury sustained in a horseback riding accident ten years ago. Despite following through with rehabilitation focused on pain relief and mobility, my aunt is severely limited in her activities. She is in frequent pain, suffers migraines and has difficulty sleeping. My cousin has tried all sorts of things to minimize the pain. The conventional medications caused other problems. Afraid of the long-term and harmful side-effects, she started looking for a more natural and safer solution. She read up on various studies and became convinced that cannabis could help her. Because of restrictions put in place by our state government, it was really difficult for my cousin to get her physician prescriptions approved. In the last year, our state has relaxed some of the restrictions on legalized medical cannabis. My cousin is able to visit a local dispensary and acquire the medication she needs. The cannabis has greatly improved her quality of life. She’s been able to go back to work, sleep at night and look ahead to the future. While cannabis is now very accessible, it’s still quite expensive. My cousin feels so much better that the expense is worth it. However, I wonder about those people who can’t afford it. I’m hoping that eventually the cost will come down and the government will further minimize all of the requirements.
