I don’t think it was exactly subconscious that we moved to a state that has legal recreational marijuana.
But it wasn’t something that we overtly planned either. I think it was sort of a wonderful and happy accident. We actually chose this region to move to after retirement well before there was legal cannabis here. We both wanted to move to the sun after living our entire adult life in a place with cold, long Winters and short but wonderful Summers. And where we live now was the place that we had vacationed many times. We sort of fell in love with this place. My wife and I actually met in college at a party where we were both rookies when it came to sativa, indica or hybrid strains. For all we knew, we could have been smoking oregano. But we both remember the magic of that night and for sure, it was cannabis and not any other sort of herb. Living where we did, it wasn’t easy to come buy any sort of cannabis products. So using marijuana was relegated to rare occasions. That’s sure not the case now. In fact, my wife and I can hop in our golf cart and be at the local cannabis spot in under 10 minutes. Since marijuana products are legal here for anyone over 21 years of age, getting recreational marijuana is no big deal. Yet, we’ve been living here almost 2 years now and I’m still blown away every time I go shopping for marijuana for sale. I can still hardly believe that I can just walk into a cannabis dispensary.
