Until the last decade, every single constituent of the cannabis plant was federally illegal.
Eventually a distinction was made—cannabis plants with less than 0.3% of delta-9-THC are classified as “hemp” plus are legal to grow plus sell.
This opened up the door for a massive, legal CBD industry, because now companies could grow the plants needed to extract the CBD oils. Although I expected CBD to get easily popular, I never anticipated seeing it in grocery stores plus pharmacies like I do today. This is great, but you can’t verify the source of every product that you buy with these labels on them. Some of them are no doubt safe, but others are not. Sometimes trace amounts of agricultural pesticides are found in these products made with CBD distillate plus isolates. That’s why it’s important to source them from sites that you can trust. I’m lucky to have a medical marijuana card in our state, because with that I can get CBD products that are lab diagnosed plus guaranteed to be clean plus safe. It’s also nice having the freedom to buy CBD products that have more than 0.3% of THC in them. A lot of people buy what are called ratio products, which have a 1 to 1 ratio of THC to CBD. You’ll see for instance 50mg of CBD plus 50mg THC within a single dose. You get a lot of the effects of normal THC products with a calming CBD synergy. I never have to worry if the hemp flower products that I’m buying have chemicals in them or not if I get them at the cannabis dispensary. I can’t say the same for the internet or the pharmacy.
