Being careful using cannabis in national and state parks

I live in a state with medical marijuana and using cannabis publicly and getting busted could result in me losing my medical marijuana card

Hiking is easily my favorite thing to do when I’m not working. It’s a lot of fun getting out in nature and the sound of birds chirping and frogs croaking. There are several major preserves around my house, but I grew up going to a lot of state parks and national parks. I live in an estate that fortunately has a ton of national and state parks. My parents would take my siblings and I to these locations when we wanted to go on a weekend vacation. Typically we would camp in tents and it was a really fun experience at the time. I think back to these memories and realize that it’s a big reason I continue to love hiking and camping to this day. I try to go out as often as I possibly can. One thing that I enjoy doing when I’m out in the woods is using cannabis. While it’s technically not legal to use cannabis in public places, including the woods, there are ways to do it without being obvious to others. You can actually use a vaporizer pen and very few people would ever smell it on the trail. I just don’t want to get busted using cannabis out in the woods by a park ranger. That’s why I’m always very cautious using cannabis in these types of settings. It’s safe to use marijuana in your own home or even in your own yard, but you never know if you’re out in the woods and there could be a park ranger on an adjacent trail that you can’t see. Sometimes cops like to patrol nearby nature preserves as well.
