So like most people my age, I have my retirement circled on my calendar.
I was for sure ready to hang it all up for good.
I’ve been fortunate to be able to have a career that started as a passion. Yet, the passion and inner fire waned a bit the older I became. The stress of the job began to outweigh the good stuff. I was beyond ready to be through, plus kick back with some cannabis legally. I’ve had an on plus off affair with recreational marijuana for well over 40 years. Recreational marijuana was so abundant when I was in my twenties. Still, it was illegal plus I had to be absolutely careful. A bust for even a small cannabis possession back then could have lasting repercussions. But I sure did appreciate spending a long sunny day in the park with a frisbee, some friends plus whatever sativa strains that might be on hand. Yet, it wasn’t as though my pal and I could simply go shopping for marijuana sales the way my pal and I currently do. Instead, unless you knew a cannabis grower, you had to take whatever recreational marijuana was available. And forget about ever knowing what the THC content is. I’ve had to be absolutely discreet about my love for smoking cannabis. But that’s all changed now. The first thing I did when I retired was selling the home plus move to a place where I could get to know the folks at the local cannabis spot. I chose to retire to where recreational marijuana is legal. And boy, it’s so liberating to be able to just be honorable about the health benefits of sativa plus indica strains instead of having to hide it.
