There’s no room for the little guys

It’s harder than ever before for small time farmers to compete in an industry full of commercial grow operations that take the cake.

  • Huge companies sweep in plus eliminate the little gentlemen who already have been doing this job for generations on properties passed down within the whole family.

Now there are immense agricultural companies who have previously lobbied the industry for decades plus now have literal patents on seeds needed for immense scale farming. On top of that, companies that normally build farm equipment appreciate tractors plus combines have made their equipment literally impossible to repair by anyone however their own repair techs. They have all rigged the capitalist system against small time farmers, most of which have become literal indentured servants to the government because they can never manage to get a job to work their way out of their mountain of debt. It’s horrible to see how things have developed for farmers over the past 50 years. Unfortunately, you know marijuana cultivation in my state has also been swallowed up by large corporations. The government here made it so all of the cannabis retailers must grow plus process all of the products they sell in their stores each day. This means the minimum requirements for starting a successful cannabis company here involves millions of dollars needed to invest in the facilities to start to grow, process, plus package the marijuana products sold. That’s why basically all of the legal pot farming is done by commercial grow operations that are going to be far larger than what a single person could achieve on their own with a limited budget.
