The medical marijuana didn’t look any different from recreational marijuana.

Last month, the law that pertains to recreational marijuana finally went into effect. For three years, I had been using medical marijuana, and I wanted to know the difference between medical marijuana and recreational marijuana. I went to the local marijuana dispensary to check it out. I showed my medical marijuana ID card and was told it wasn’t necessary, but it would give me a discount. I thought this was odd. I thought maybe recreational marijuana differed from medical marijuana. I asked the budtender what the difference was between the two. She told me that there were no differences between recreational or medical marijuana other than what you pay. If you have a medical ID card, you didn’t need to pay the added tax that is put on recreational marijuana. Since recreational marijuana isn’t medicinal and it isn’t a necessity, there is an added tax added on to the regular sales tax, which puts the rate at 13%. I couldn’t believe the only difference was in the tax rate. I purchased some marijuana gummies, which were taxed the same as recreational marijuana, instead of medical marijuana. I asked why I was being charged so much. She said that although recreational marijuana was legal, if I was using my medical marijuana status, I was being held with the laws that governed medical marijuana.
