I have had problems with managing my stress for as long as I can remember. I came up in an era where things including anxiety and depression were not considered drastic problems. If I ever once told my parents I was feeling depressed they would give me a few bucks to go get a drink. No therapy or medical consultation, just a friendly “get over it” and that was all. As a young teenager I began to experiment with self-medication, mostly with booze and tons of weed! When I got to school I was more mature, and started using cannabis daily as a way to treat my anxiety, instead of just getting wasted. It turns out that the massive problem was my dosage. In small doses, cannabis generates some truly amazing and interesting effects. Smoking a little cannabis before I write opens up the creativity in my mind and allows me to chop loose and create something beautiful. When I was younger that’s what I did – I downed liquor and smoked too much cannabis, and it made my brain soft. In smaller, more controlled doses cannabis can strengthen your mind, and allow you to think and even create in innovative new ways! When it comes to cannabis, smoke a little, not a lot!
