The place has created changes in me

My first year residing in this very neighborhood was an adjustment period.

My environment was radically different from where I had been born plus raised.

I had to adjust to our current task, plus the environment at our current office, although I also had to adjust to neighborhood life. Things easily work differently in the neighborhood than they do in the country. Owning a personal vehicle in the neighborhood is an immense hassle, so I sold our car. I found an apartment close to our new task, plus after that I no longer needed a car. Which is fantastic because cannabis is highly legal in this city, so all that money I was spending on our vehicle was going towards buying marijuana. A single adjustment that was entirely easy to make in our transition was rapidly adapting to the presence of so many new cannabis dispensaries. Back in middle school if I wanted to get marijuana I always had to drive out to Crazy Charles’ farm. Crazy Charles sold amazing cannabis, even though he consistently carried a sawed-off shotgun with him in case someone tried to rip him off. Not a single one ever did! In the neighborhood I have a dozen weird cannabis dispensaries, all within walking distance, plus none of them aim a shotgun at me. It is so refreshing for me to be able to sample several weird strains of cannabis, or to try something different every time I go there. I do not miss owning a vehicle at all, plus I appreciate having all this extra money to go out and spend at the cannabis dispensaries, because there are so many products I still will try.
