We’re all busy.

If one thing that the pandemic taught me, it’s that I should be less busy. Although being at home for a year wasn’t a picnic, it slowed me down. I also realized how completely out of whack the rhythms of my life were. My sleep had especially been altered. But with the help of medical marijuana, I’m finding real rest again. I wasn’t interested in prescription medicine. However prescription medical marijuana did pique my interest once I learned about the medical marijuana benefits. Social anxiety is no fun.

My parents told me I was just shy.

Well, if shy means stricken and terrified to be anywhere else but in my house, then I guess I was shy. Of course all these years later, we have a more clearly defined idea of what social anxiety really is. But it’s still not all that easy to treat. I’m getting a lot of help from medical cannabis. Unfortunately, I didn’t come to learn about medical marijuana benefits until well into my late 30’s. After a lifetime of fear and anxiety from social interaction, now I only regret not having learned about medical marijuana sooner. Once I understood the medical marijuana facts, I got myself through the cannabis regulations. That way, I had access to the cannabis products that would essentially change my life. All I can say is thank goodness for the support of those around me and medical marijuana.

That’s because being diagnosed with MS through me for such a loop that I was just completely stunned for a while.

And that led to me just feeling as though life was over as I knew it and what was the point anyway. That’s not a good place to be. My wonderful husband got me to an MS support group and that turned out to be one of the best things that has ever happened to me in my life. Having epilepsy initially made me feel so ostracized and weird that I kept almost exclusively to myself.

I feel like the cannabis has had a great deal to do with that. Getting my medical marijuana card wasn’t as tough as I thought it might be. Actually, it was quite easy as my epilepsy is a major qualifying condition in my state for the use of medical cannabis. The people at the weed shop are great to me and I really enjoy our visits nearly as much as I do the cannabis they pick out for me. I’m very happy to add my voice to the marijuana advocacy as it has greatly improved my life.

I found out the hard way that I am indeed not bulletproof.

This was sort of a stunning surprise to me.

Up until I got hurt, I had never really sustained the sort of injury that I couldn’t bounce right back from. And that’s saying a lot since I have been known to be a bit of an adrenaline junky. Until now, I just got back up and kept going. Chronic back pain was the result of a rather serious fall. Yet, I’m much more hopeful now that I’m taking medical marijuana as part of my treatment regimen. My injury left me with chronic back pain that I have chosen to try to work through before getting back surgery. There is no guarantee but it’s worth a try as surgery can just open the flood gates to a lifetime fo procedures. The medical cannabis comes in because I definitely had to stop using the pain meds. I could see a straight addiction in my future there. With cannabis there is no worry there. Cannabis really helps me get the most out of my rehab and exercises designed to relieve the pain and get my life and back back. When I use cannabis, my flexibility is greater and the risk of spasm is much lower. These are two crucial points to me getting the most out of my physical therapy. Plus, I like the side effect of being a bit more happy and hopeful when I use the medical cannabis. I’m lucky that the dispensary near me even offer cannabis delivery. I’m improving steadily and it’s due in large part to weed and the weed shop.

I hate having such a terrible sweet tooth. I think it started when I was a child whenever I visited my grandmother. She happily gave me as many donuts and chocolate bars that I could stomach. I eventually lost all of the weight gained in those early years, but I haven’t kicked my addiction for fatty foods and candy. You have to be careful with dental care, otherwise you’re at a much higher likelihood of cavities and gum disease when you eat so much sugar. For the next five hours, I was on the couch staring into an abyss on my living room ceiling. I have never had so much THC in my bloodstream in my entire life, and I don’t want to experience it ever again.
